Choose Your Path
Reynard’s Foundry
Named for the fox of old European stories, Reynard’s Foundry is a place where writing becomes a journey of discovery.
Reynard is curious and resourceful, moving through the woods by instinct and attention, often finding his way along unexpected paths. Writing can unfold in much the same way.
Sparks of ideas—questions, memories, fragments of thought—lead us down surprising trails. In the Foundry, those small sparks become the raw material of creative work. Through reflection, writing, and conversation, they gradually take shape.
Whether you’re beginning a creative practice, exploring new ideas, or deepening work in progress, our circles, workshops, and coaching offer space, attention, and community to help creativity emerge and find its form.
Creative Coaching
The writing life is long, and sometimes it helps to have someone walking beside you. I work with a small number of writers who want steady attention for their work—whether you’re trying to get an idea moving, deepen a piece in progress, prepare for submission, or begin a creative writing practice.
We meet twice a month to talk through your pages and questions.
Starting out or returning: I can create prompts shaped around your ideas to help you find your way into a creative practice or a specific project
Work in progress: I provide thoughtful feedback—reading your work or listening as you read, reflecting back themes, symbols, gaps, and strengths.
Payment installments are available, and I offer a free 45-minute consultation so we can discuss your project and see if coaching is a good fit. Helping writers is the work I’m here to do, and I care about the path of writing—the slow process by which a piece reveals what it wants to become.

Who is the Coach?
Juliet Patterson is a writer, teacher, and creative mentor who works closely with writers to help them find their voice, deepen their craft, and move forward in the projects that matter most to them.
She is the author of the memoir Sinkhole: A Legacy of Suicide (Milkweed Editions, 2022), a finalist for the Minnesota Book Awards and named one of the best memoirs of the year by Library Journal. She has also published two poetry collections, Threnody and The Truant Lover, both with Nightboat Books.
In her one-on-one mentorship work, Patterson creates a supportive, attentive space for writers to begin, return to, or deepen a creative practice. Through conversation, close reading, and tailored prompts, she helps writers move through uncertainty, get unblocked, and reconnect with the curiosity and energy that sustain a writing life.
